  • About Us

The walk was in our neighborhood in Olathe, Kansas. The drive was through Kansas City, Missouri and Olathe, Kansas.

I Went For A Walk And Then For A Drive

Friday was Papa Ralph’s birthday. He would have been 84 years old. Hippy bird day, Papa Ralph! I was able to capture a sunrise for his birthday (the one on the left) and then another sunrise this morning.

In The Backyard

Daytime skies can be very interesting.

Tractors are cool and they’re all over the place! These are just a few of the tractors I’ve seen as I’ve walked or driven around.

Playing in the Yard

Lake Olathe Park is just a hop, skip and a jump from our house in Olathe. I got the whim to head over there just before sunset. This was two days before I went to Beaver Shelter to get the sunset photo of the tree by the lake. These photos […]

Sunset at Lake Olathe Park

Lisa and I were sitting on the couch when she got a call from Susanna; a call that she was expecting. Lisa’s chats with Susanna typically last at least an hour, and sometimes longer. I’m really glad that Lisa and Susanna stay in touch! Just before the call came in, […]

Beaver Shelter

Lisa and I have been considering getting a trampoline. We read some reviews and decided to order one online. A few days after placing the order, we were told that the trampoline was on back-order and that it was unknown how long it would take to be back in stock. […]

Wanting a Trampoline

I was reminded the other day of something that I wrote to my sons in 2015, so I thought I’d share an edited version of what I wrote to them. At the time I wrote to my sons, I had been thinking a lot about my experiences playing disc golf […]

The Spirit of Play

I blame the smile that is on my face today on the folks at 99PercentInvisible.org. I listened to episode #328 from November 6, 2018 called, “Devolutionary Design” and learned stuff about the band “Devo” and Chi Chi Rodriguez that I didn’t know. In addition, and this is the part that […]

Brings A Smile To My Face

Kyson came over to visit and while he was here, he met a friend down the street. As Lisa and I sat on the lawn to watch him play, I looked up.

Looking Up

I decided that it was time to swap the snow tires on my truck with the summer tires and this is what I saw on the way there.

Changing The Tires

Lisa pointed out these blossoms in a neighbor’s yard, so I just had to take a picture of them. And I was able to frame them with the wood patio cover belonging to another neighbor.
