Fake Steam

The Week 44 52PC topic was “Fog and Steam” It hasn’t been foggy here in Kansas, at least not where I was looking, so I decided to photograph some steam. Well, it was supposed to be a photo of steam, but I was being lazy, so I used smoke, instead. I put three burning sticks of incense inside this Southern Utah University mug, shot it and pretended that the smoke was steam.

I also wasn’t feeling very motivated for week 45’s theme of “Nighttime”, it was so cold outside. So I considered just posting a photo from my archives, but then decided against that idea. One of the things that I enjoyed photographing in DayBreak was porches in the dark (see this post). I haven’t seen the same type of porches here in Olathe, but there are still a few that I like. With that in mind, I grabbed my camera, got in the car and drove around to capture a few porches in our neighborhood.

Oh, by the way, the squirrel has absolutely nothing to do with either steam or nighttime, it’s just a squirrel.
