Leon was still so enthralled and intrigued with his experience standing at the piano that he thought he would like to give playing a piano a try. He wasn’t sure where he would find another piano; especially one that someone would let him play, but he knew he would find one somewhere. And Finn agreed to accompany him on his search for a piano. Finn is a good friend.
Walking along the street, they saw some funny little people standing by a smoke tree. The tree wasn’t smoking; and the funny little people weren’t smoking; and they weren’t quite sure how they knew it was a smoke tree, but it was a smoke tree. So they meandered on over to where the funny little people were and asked them what they were doing and if they knew that they were funny looking. The response they got was, “Just standing around and yes we do, but at least we’re not made of socks!”
“That’s true, you’re not made of socks”, said Finn, “but you are made of plastic.” Leon, not wanting to continue with this discussion of who is made of what said, “we’re looking for a piano. And we’re not particular as to what it is made of: wood, plastic, metal, fur or whatever.” The funny little people responded by saying that the house that was standing right behind them had a piano in it. “Cool!” yelled Leon.
They knocked on the door and waited for someone to answer. Fortunately, someone did. Finn and Leon, so excited to see a piano, just ran right in without even waiting for an invitation. But they probably wouldn’t have gotten an invitation because the person who answered the door didn’t look down far enough to see them.
Leon jumped up on the piano bench and started playing. But he was having trouble turning the pages in the music book and playing at the same time. So Finn jumped up and helped to turn the pages. Too bad he had no idea when to turn the pages. So one of the funny little plastic people jumped up and gave them both some direction. This caused Leon to exclaim how nice it is to get a little help from his friends!
