On Monday, October 8, 2012, I drove from Salt Lake City, Utah to LeRoy and Piedmont, Wyoming. I traveled along Interstate 80, past Evanston, WY to exit 24. LeRoy is north of the Interstate and Piedmont is south of it. I have fond memories as a child of camping with my family near these two locations. LeRoy, WY is where my Great Uncle Murray Sharp lived during the early part of the 1900’s. I know he was there during the Great Depression of the 30’s. He worked for the Railroad and managed the water tanks at LeRoy. I didn’t visit Millburne on this trip. Millburne is where my Dad was born and where his grandparents homesteaded in the late 1800’s.
These photos are of what is left of LeRoy, Wyoming. The trees in the first two photos surround the place where Murray Sharp’s home was. The home is gone, but the foundation is still there. The rest of the photos are of the wood frame that Murray built. He would drive the truck up onto the frame to change the oil and to work on it.
These photos are of Piedmont and the Kilns that were used to make charcoal.
