The theme for week 38 of the 52 Photo Challenge was “Face”. This is the first face photo I took for the challenge. I couldn’t resist submitting a photo of something other than a human or animal face. As part of this theme, I learned that the tendency to see faces in inanimate objects is called “face pareidolia”. And I couldn’t resist re-using a picture of Kyson through his jack-o-lantern.
And of course, no collection of face photos would be complete without a beautiful model:
Nicole chose “Blossom” as the theme for week 39. My first thought was that “blossom” should be a spring theme, not a fall theme. But then I thought that having a spring theme in the fall would possibly create opportunities for different types of blossom photos than what I would get in the spring. One of my favorite flowers is the tulip, so I placed some tulips on the play set in the backyard and also next to my wife’s favorite fruit. And then while I was watching my granddaughter at the park, I came across some chalk art that fit the theme.
I was in Salt Lake City, Utah during week 40 and the theme was, “Environmental Portrait”. These are the photos I captured while tooling around looking for portrait opportunities. Yes, several of these are selfies. And I know that the photo of the moon isn’t a portrait, but I couldn’t resist.
I stayed with my sister and my brother-in-law while visiting Salt Lake and they brought home a box of apples, so I shot ’em.
I’ve already finished this post, but then after finishing it, I remembered something that Cory and Kyson drew in celebration of Eli’s 15th Birthday; so here it is. They had fun drawing it together.
