Finn and Leon both had the wonderful opportunity to visit Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina for the 12th United States Disc Golf Championships.

As they were walking along the road on their way to the disc golf course, they asked a nice passerby where would be a good place to watch the players playing disc golf. The nice passerby said that Hole 12 would be a nice place to go watch. They thanked the nice passerby for that information and then proceeded to wonder why a hole would be a good place to watch. They also wondered why the hole had a number. But of course, as they wondered, they soon forgot what they were wondering about and just kept walking. After all, their heads are just stuffed with cotton.

Walking along the road, they came across a hole in the ground. Thinking that this was possibly the right place to watch, and wondering if this was number 12, they jumped in. But as they were standing there in the hole, they realized that they couldn’t see much. It’s not that the hole was really deep, maybe a couple feet, but Finn and Leon are both kinda short. Well, Leon is kinda short and Finn is really short.
After standing in the hole for a few days and not seeing much of anything, they finally decided to climb out and look for a different hole with a better view. So they started walking again and saw some hay bales stacked next to a big building. On top of the hay bales was a sign, so Finn and Leon decided to go over and check out the sign. Maybe it would tell them where hole 12 was. And sure enough, it did! In fact, it was the tee sign for hole 12!

As they were sitting on the hay bales, they wondered where the actual hole was. According to the sign, it was at least 901 feet away. So they walked along the grass, looking for the hole. But what they found wasn’t exactly what they were expecting! There was a pole stuck in the ground with metal baskets and chains attached to it. A nice passerby overheard their questions about what the pole was and he said that it was the basket for hole 12.

So they climbed on the basket and looked around to see what they could see. What they saw nearly took their heads off! A golf disc came flying by their heads and landed on the ground with a plastic thud. Excited at the prospect of watching disc golf, and having been yelled at for being in the way, they jumped down and ran to the side of the fairway to watch all of the cool players playing disc golf. They even got a chance to wave green and red flags to help the player’s know if their discs landed either in-bounds or out-of-bounds. Cool! Waving flags is fun!
