Joy Carol Flanigan Sharp “Pita”
Joy is now face to face with Jesus. “He hath made everything beautiful” Ecclesiastes 3:11
Joy passed away Sun. Aug 10, 2003. She passed away as gracefully and beautifully as she lived life, surrounded by her seven children, and husband of 45 years.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph; and children, Steven (Lisa), Sandra (Tom), Scott (Mary Ann), Suzanne (Terry), Stephanie (David), Stacia (David A.), Spencer (Casey).
Joy was born in Salt Lake City, UT to Nellie and Elsworth Flanigan. She was second of six children. She was preceded in death by her youngest sister (Denise), and her father (Elsworth). She married Ralph C Sharp Jan 1958. After rearing seven children she attended college and received her RN license from Weber State. She worked hard for more than 15 years at the VA Hospital in Salt Lake City, UT, teaching everyone around her that it is never too late. All the while enjoying camping, biking, music, her 20 grandchildren, and just living life to its fullest.
We will miss her terribly, but in her death we rejoice that through Jesus Christ alone she is now singing with him in Heaven. “I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise” Luke 23:43.
Memorial service Grace Lutheran Church, Fri. Aug 15, 10 a.m. 9800 S. 1800 E, Sandy, UT. In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Grace Lutheran Church and School. Directors, Jenkins- Soffe, S. Valley.
